Inventory Overview

The Inventory Overview is your central dashboard for managing all SKUs across your fulfillment locations. Monitor stock levels, track inventory value, and take quick actions to keep your inventory organized and accurate.

The Inventory Overview gives you real-time stock visibility across all your fulfillment locations in one place. See which SKUs are out of stock, low, or overstocked at a glance, perform bulk updates, and act directly on individual SKUs — all without switching between warehouses or tabs.

Real-Time Visibility

See current stock levels across all fulfillment locations in one view, updated in real-time as orders are processed.

Smart Alerts

Get instant notifications for SKUs that are out of stock, below minimum levels, or need restocking.

Update multiple SKUs at once - adjust quantities, assign locations, manage tags, and more in seconds.

Track inventory across all your warehouses and fulfillment centers with location-specific details.

At the top of the Inventory page, you’ll see key metrics that give you an instant snapshot of your inventory health:

Total SKUs

The total number of unique SKUs in your inventory system.

Units On Hand

Total physical units available across all locations (good stock).

Committed Units

Units reserved for orders that haven’t shipped yet.

Out of Stock

Number of SKUs with zero available units (shown in red).

Below Min

SKUs with available stock below their minimum threshold (shown in orange).

Over Max

SKUs with available stock above their maximum threshold (shown in blue).

Negative Inv.

SKUs with negative inventory (backordered items, shown in dark red).

Value (Cost)

Total inventory value based on buy/cost prices (shown in green).

Value (Retail)

Total inventory value based on retail prices (shown in teal).

Locations in Use

Number of fulfillment locations currently storing inventory.

  1. Navigate to Inventory

    Click Inventory in the main navigation menu. The page loads with all your SKUs displayed in a table.

  2. Review Key Metrics

    Check the dashboard metrics at the top to get an instant overview of your inventory health. Look for any red or orange alerts that need attention.

  3. Browse the Inventory Table

    The table shows your SKUs with columns for:

    • Product Information: Product name, SKU, and description
    • Stock & Location: Available, on hand, committed quantities, and location count
    • Stock Thresholds: Min/max stock levels and reorder points
    • Product Details: Physical properties like weight, dimensions
    • Pricing & Value: Buy price, retail price, total value
    • Tags: Custom tags for organization
    • Alerts: Stock warnings and notifications
  4. Click on a SKU for Details

    Click any row to open a detailed sidebar with complete information about that SKU, including:

    • Stock health across all locations
    • Active alerts and warnings
    • Inventory history and forecast data
    • Location-specific quantities

Quick Filters help you instantly find SKUs that need attention. Click the Quick Filters button in the toolbar to see options:

Out of Stock

Shows SKUs with Available = 0. Perfect for identifying items to restock immediately.

Backordered

Shows SKUs with negative available quantity (Available < 0). These need urgent attention.

Below Minimum

Shows SKUs where available stock is below the minimum threshold you’ve set.

Over Maximum

Shows SKUs where available stock exceeds the maximum threshold (potential overstock).

Discontinued

Shows SKUs marked as discontinued in your system.

When a Quick Filter is active, its name appears on the button. Click the × icon next to it to clear the filter.

The Sort button lets you organize inventory by any field with primary and secondary sorting:

  1. Click the Sort Button

    Click the Sort button (or current sort name if already sorting) in the toolbar.

  2. Choose Primary Sort Field

    Select from organized categories:

    • Product: Name, SKU, Brand, Barcode, UPC
    • Stock: Available, Committed, On Hand, Stock Value, Location Count
    • Thresholds: Min Stock, Max Stock, Reorder Point
    • Pricing: Buy Price, Sell Price, MSRP, Cost per Unit, Profit Margin
    • Physical: Weight, Length, Width, Height, Volume
    • Dates: Created Date, Updated Date, Last Sale Date
  3. Set Sort Direction

    Click the arrow icon to toggle between ascending (↑) and descending (↓).

  4. Add Secondary Sort (Optional)

    Click + Secondary to add a second level of sorting. Great for organizing by category first, then by stock level.

  5. Apply Sorting

    Click Apply to update the table. The active sort displays at the bottom of the panel.

You can show or hide columns to focus on the information that matters most to you:

  1. Open Column Settings

    Click the column icon in the toolbar (next to filters).

  2. Toggle Columns

    Check or uncheck columns to show or hide them:

    • Channel
    • Product Information ✓ (default)
    • Stock & Location ✓ (default)
    • Stock Thresholds
    • Product Details ✓ (default)
    • Pricing & Value ✓ (default)
    • Tags ✓ (default)
    • Alerts ✓ (default)
  3. Save Preferences

    Your column preferences are automatically saved for future sessions.

When you select multiple SKUs (using checkboxes), a Bulk Action Toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen with powerful tools to update many items at once.

Update Quantities

Change stock levels for multiple SKUs at once - perfect for inventory adjustments or cycle counts.

Assign Locations

Add or remove fulfillment locations for selected SKUs in bulk.

Manage Tags

Add or remove tags to organize your inventory by category, season, or custom criteria.

Click Show More Actions to see all available options:

Inventory Management:

  • Update Quantities: Change stock levels for multiple SKUs
  • Assign/Remove Locations: Connect SKUs to fulfillment locations
  • Assign/Remove Channels: Connect SKUs to sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, etc.)

Product Management:

  • Set Price: Update retail prices for multiple products
  • Update Status: Change product status (active, discontinued, etc.)
  • Update Any Field: Modify any SKU field in bulk
  • Manage Tags: Add or remove tags to organize inventory
  • Export SKUs: Download selected SKUs as a CSV file

Destructive Actions:

  • Delete Selected Items: Remove discontinued SKUs (with confirmation)

Click any SKU row to open the SKU details sidebar with two tabs:

  • Stock Health: See which locations have stock for this SKU
  • Alerts: View active warnings (out of stock, below min, etc.)
  • Location Details: Breakdown of quantities by fulfillment location
  • Quick Actions: Update settings and quantities for this specific SKU

View inventory forecasting data based on sales history:

  • Predicted stock needs
  • Recommended reorder points
  • Sales trends and patterns

To add new products to your inventory:

  1. Click New Product

    Click the New Product button in the top-right corner of the Inventory page.

  2. Fill Product Information

    Enter the product details including SKU, name, description, and pricing.

  3. Configure Stock Settings

    Set minimum and maximum stock levels, reorder points, and initial quantities.

  4. Assign Locations

    Select which fulfillment locations will stock this product.

  5. Save Product

    Click Save to add the product to your inventory system.

Use the search and filter tools to find specific SKUs:

  • Search Bar: Search by product name, SKU, or barcode
  • Advanced Filters: Click Filters to create custom filter sets that you can save and reuse
  • Saved Filters: Access previously saved filter combinations from the Filters dropdown

Monitor Alerts Daily

Check the “Out of Stock” and “Below Min” quick filters each day to identify items that need restocking.

Use Tags for Organization

Tag products by season, promotion, or category to make bulk updates easier later.

Set Stock Thresholds

Configure minimum and maximum stock levels for each SKU so OmniOrders can alert you automatically.

Regular Stock Audits

Use bulk selection and the Export feature to create inventory reports for physical counts.

Review Negative Inventory

Negative inventory means overselling. Check these SKUs regularly and sync with fulfillment locations.

Customize Your View

Hide columns you don’t need and save custom filters for your daily workflow.

If inventory counts in OmniOrders don’t match your physical warehouse:

  1. Check if orders are committed but not yet fulfilled (these reduce “Available” but not “On Hand”)
  2. Verify that fulfillment location sync is enabled in your integration settings
  3. Review the SKU’s Inventory History to see recent changes
  4. Contact your fulfillment location to perform a physical count

Quick Filters Not Showing Expected Results

If Quick Filters seem inaccurate:

  1. Clear all other filters first - Quick Filters work on top of existing filters
  2. Verify that min/max stock thresholds are set correctly for your SKUs
  3. Refresh the page to ensure you have the latest data

If bulk actions don’t complete:

  1. Check that you have permission to modify inventory
  2. Verify you’re not trying to delete SKUs with active orders
  3. Reduce the number of selected items if working with hundreds of SKUs
  4. Check for validation errors in the action dialog
